- Ask everyone to stand in a circle and hold hands.
- Hold the ball with your left hand with 1st and 3rd finger with metal strip running vertical between their fingers.
- Have the person on your right put their index finger on only one of the metal strips. (no sound or lights should be flashing)
- Then grab the hand of the person on your left.
- Have each person in the circle grab and hold hands including the person on your right holding the ball.
- Put your index finger on the other metal strip on the ball. (Lights and sound should now be flashing)
- POINT OUT: God made a power to human connection. It’s enough to make this ball light up and sound off (and it could actually power a lot more). It could be that if you find yourself
lacking energy, that you need to connect with others and experience the power of community more often.
- Now have someone on the opposite side of the circle from the ball let go of someone’s hand. (Sound and lights stop)
- POINT OUT: The Power of Community is lost when someone lets go, isn’t forgiven, is neglected, or rejected or does the same to someone else in the group.
- Now have them hold hands again and let go so they can see ball going off and on.
- POINT OUT: Everyone has the power to experience community or not experience community. Its up to them. It not always easy, but it’s simple: Just reach out and touch, text, or call.
- Finally, have someone in the circle touch a person on the clothing covering their shoulder or arm. (ball will not light or sound)
- POINT OUT: When a person comes into a community and is not willing to be exposed, transparent or share where they are really at & what’s really going on, it is as if they weren’t there. Result = the power of community is broken.
- Have them all hold hands again and say, “Now this is what we’re looking for….connection and community.”
- Collect the ball and have them give themselves a hand (applause).
